Inclusion in the labor market – recognizing and exploiting potential

Inclusion is not a marginal issue—it is a benefit for companies, employees, and our region. People with disabilities bring perspectives, skills, and experiences that strengthen teams and can actively counteract skills shortages. As an economic development agency, we support companies in the Steinfurt district in breaking new ground – including in the direction of inclusive work structures. The "Inclusion Münsterland" campaign is a powerful example of how joint action can bring about concrete change.

“Inclusion Münsterland” campaign

5 percent more inclusion means 5,000 percent more potential! Under this motto, the "Inclusion Münsterland" campaign is committed to bringing more people with disabilities into employment subject to social insurance contributions in the primary labor market. Using authentic practical examples, the initiative shows that inclusion is already being successfully practiced in Münsterland—and the enormous potential this holds for companies. The aim is to break down reservations, highlight specific support services, and encourage companies to explore new avenues in recruitment.

From the outset, WESt has been an active part of the Münsterland-wide alliance, which includes more than 40 stakeholders from business, the labor market, administration, and society. Together with the Steinfurt District Job Center and the Steinfurt Warendorf District Craftsmen's Association, it initiated the campaign and brought the professional participation of people with disabilities into the focus of the regional economy. The 2025 campaign was awarded the Marketing Prize by the Marketing Club Münster-Osnabrück for its commitment.

More about the Münsterland Inclusion Campaign

Alliance for Employment and Inclusion in the Steinfurt District

In the district of Steinfurt, we bring companies, institutions, and skilled workers together in partnership through the Alliance for Work and Inclusion. Through targeted dialogue formats, information events, and active public relations work, we create spaces for exchange, break down barriers, and highlight successful examples. This is complemented by concrete support services that provide practical assistance to companies—from initial information to sustainable integration into everyday working life.

In this way, we promote early contact between companies and potential skilled workers, open up new employment prospects, and strengthen the regional economy. In this way, we make an active contribution to an inclusive, equitable, and at the same time efficient labor market in the Münsterland region.
